The Egg Bowl
This is another game that’s moved since released. No matter how good or bad these teams have performed over the years, this game is usually closer than the point spread.
We need to dig a little deeper to see if this stat continues.
First Ole Miss is by far the better team this season, beating Georgia and South Carolina. But: Georgia had 3 turnovers and Carson Beck didn't play well. South Carolina was overmatched, but still held The Rebels to 3.4 yards per carry.
2) There's a pretty good chance that no matter how well they play, the playoffs are out of reach.
3) Coach Kiffin didn't sound very enthusiastic in interviews. He kept saying he was glad the game was on Friday because the playoff committee doesn't watch many games. Sounds like an early excuse to me.
As for Mississippi State, first they are not an elite program now. They're 2 and 9 but have still managed to cover against Texas, Georgia and TN on the road, as well as Texas A&M at home.
2) Of course there's a pretty good chance that Ole Miss opens up a big lead, but there's also a pretty good chance that The Bulldogs add some points late in this relatively high profile game.
3) Rebel star receiver Tre Harris seems to have reinjured his groin. At the time of this writing, there's a good chance he doesn't play. But other receivers have great numbers for yards per catch.
4) Mississippi's top running back Henry Parrish is also out. That could be a problem. 5) Also at the time of the writing, Miss State's 2nd best receiver-previously suspended Mario Craver may now be playing. Seems like lots of points.
I like The Mississippi State Bulldogs +26.5
