The Cleveland Browns at The New Orleans Saints

Sunday, November 17, 2024

Released to our subscribers on Thursday, November 14, 2024

This game opened at New Orleans minus -2.5.

Sharper money has moved towards Cleveland who is now the favorite.

We jumped on board while the number was migrating. and got a little better value.

Everything has to be taken in context.

New Orleans lost to Carolina, who beat The Giants in overtime in their next start. The performance by New York was arguably the worst I’ve seen all season. Their quarterback Daniel Jones just wasn’t seeing the field.

Last week The Saints beat a decent Falcon team.

Sometimes the visuals are more important. Atlanta looked like the better team. Most importantly, The Saints got what has now become a pretty decent angle. The new head coach bump.

Most teams regress after that initial win.

Cleveland had been hamstrung with Watson at quarterback.

One good year in Houston equals 230 million dollars.
One good trade by Houston equals 3 first rounders, one 3rd and 2 fourth rounders. Ouch.

Watson gets hurt and Cleveland inexplicably puts in Dorian Thompson-Robinson. That didn’t work out too well, which was a surprise because Jameis Winston was available.

Winston still has ability, but has always given up too many interceptions. That hopefully won’t be as much of a problem in the future, or at least today, with maturity and facing a suspect defense.

The Saints should be more capable with Carr back, but they don’t have that many viable threats after Kamara and Hill, especially with Olave on IR.

The Saints have not looked that good against quality teams.

Conversely, the Browns had enough talent, emotion and confidence to beat Baltimore whose prior loss was in Game #2 this season, when they were still trying to figure out their defense.

I like The Cleveland Browns +1
