I made this number tighter.
Which means maybe the sharp money or public are wrong, maybe I missed something , maybe some info has not yet released, or maybe one side is worth serious consideration .
Pitt was projected to have around 6 wins this season. That’s already been accomplished, but it can be argued that they haven’t beaten much. In their last game The Panthers should have lost to Cal, who may be working on a five game losing streak by the close of business on Saturday.
Syracuse at 5-1 has played a slightly softer cumulative strength of schedule, but have beaten two ranked teams. Their only loss was to Stanford when quarterback Ashton Daniels was still playing. Stanford only had 1 offensive touchdown and took advantage of an unusually poor game plan.
The total is high because both can score and both usually are pass first, especially on first downs.
Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord will get a look at the next level.
Pitt’s quarterback Holstein has been a surprise and may also have an opportunity to continue after college, but he’s still a kid, but I guess they all are.
Both teams have similar numbers.
Pitt has a super kicker, who hasn’t missed yet and is 3 for 3 over 50 yards. Pitt hasn’t been that efficient on 3rd down conversions and this game could come down to a field goal.
Field goals aren’t 6 points.
