There’s a great stat many have referred to over the years. It's that Andy Reed wins more games after a bye week than other coaches. And it’s true.
What isn’t true is that he covers more ATS after a bye week.
Here's some handicapping info that should help us. I’ve made a few mistakes this season, because as colloquial as this may sound; “The only constant in football is change”. Our models need continuous updates to be as successful as possible.
Players are getting faster and stronger.
We never used to see defensive linemen run down speed position players.
We never used to hear that quarterbacks could squat six hundred pounds.
We’ve never seen so many concussions, deep tissue injuries and especially hamstring issues.
We have more game changing injuries every year.
Some podcasts devote most of their airtime to these issues.
But, we’ve also seen that some backup specialty players perform better as replacements their first week in the lineup, and then not as well in their return performances.
Once something is seen by good oppositional coaches, adjustments can be made.
Take The San Francisco 49ers -1.
