Maybe The Hokies have one of their better games, but an outright win by Stanford isn't out of the question.
The Cardinal could be without their starting QB and a good safety.
The backup QB, Justin Lamson, could be capable, he just hasn't had that many opportunities. His two starts last year weren't impressive but they were against USC and Oregon.
Last week Stanford lost to Clemson by 34 points. The Cardinal offense was better than the boxscore indicated. 3 Redzone turnovers led to oppositional scoring opportunities.
Virginia Tech will be traveling their 2nd week in succession after an emotional loss to Miami. The Hurricane's Cam Ward was not as efficient as usual throwing 2 interceptions and having some surprising misses.
In their other games, The Hokies lost to Vanderbilt, had an adequate win against a pedestrian Old Dominion, and beat Marshall whose only win has been against Western Michigan who has yet to beat an FBS team this season.
