Fans often overvalue their hometown teams because of geographical alliances.
Fans will often try to proselytize to others about their allegiances.
Fans will even get into fights at football games with others who are rooting for the competition, while worshipping at their hometown stadium altar.
Maybe some of these fans are right, because I don’t think Kansas City would have gotten this far if it weren’t for some kind of divine intervention, which includes deities in black and white striped uniforms.
The Chiefs are the most successful team in the modern football era. Maybe they’re just warming up for another unprecedented run, but they can't play like they did last Saturday and expect to keep winning. The Texan’s offense was marginal at best the 2nd half of the season. Their wide receivers had an alarming attrition rate. Statistically Houston’s defense is average, but they still held Kansas City to 212 total yards.
The referees helped Kansas City keep drives alive. The Chiefs averaged 2.3 yards per carry, while the Texans averaged 5.1 yards per carry. Houston played a pretty soft schedule the second half of the season. The combined record of their opposition, other than Kansas City and Baltimore was 25- 60. They did beat the Chargers, but Herbert threw more interceptions in that game than in the entire season.
Conversely, Buffalo impressed on Sunday against a good team. I had a futures ticket betting that The Eagles would meet the Ravens in The Super Bowl.
Oops, you can’t win them all.
Hopefully this one will convert for everybody.
I like The Buffalo Bills +1.5.
