Most analysts had positive things to say about The Vikings for the entire season until the final 20 minutes of their last game.
They couldn't convert on late downs.
Now what?
Was Detroit's defense that much better?
Did Minnesota just have an anomaly game?
Is there a possible blueprint McVay can use to neutralize The Vikings offense?
I think that’s possible. Darnold is so much better if he gets rid of the ball in under 2.5 seconds. His numbers nosedive if he has to hold the ball longer. Coaches know this, but the Rams still have to get the job done with their defensive front.
That could happen.
They may not have the same name talent as The Lions, but they do have a young aggressive D-line that is improving.
The Rams were successful with a similar game plan against The Vikings on October 25th.
In addition: The Vikings are traveling 2 weeks in succession, while the Los Angeles starters are basically coming off a bye week. Minnesota is 2-4 against playoff teams this season, and no matter what the rankings say, they had a pretty easy strength of schedule.
