First a comment: The Portal can make things difficult.
1) It's like having NFL free agency in mid-January, but you can still change your mind.
2) Sometimes you feel like you're handicapping the first week of the season all over again. Unfortunately, this season is only one game long.
Anyway, even giving points there's actually value on Texas. All the analysts like Clemson because they can lose by such a big number. We all saw Texas get beaten by Georgia's backup quarterback...but...
1) That backup quarterback may be better than Carson Beck who knows that his draft stock is not that high right now and could be coming back next season.
2) I thought Texas was the better team against Georgia and got way too many undeserved holding calls at the end of the game. Or at the very least, it seemed Georgia was holding just as much and got away with it.
3) The Longhorns had trouble running the ball against a good rush defense. Clemson's is not as capable.
4) The Tigers are 123rd in the nation at giving up big plays.
5) Texas does well as a double digit favorite. They're 5-1 this season, and this game means more than the others.
