We almost always have positive CLV.
We don’t in this contest. Anyway, no surprise to any of us, college football has changed dramatically with NILs. As discussed in prior analysis, programs outside of the upper tiers are often putting teams together for the current year rather than being able to build longer term.
Tonight’s game could be a showcase for Florida to help a return to prominence. An impressive performance, especially because the game is close to Gainesville, would help Florida's recruiting.
The attrition rate for Tulane is high. I'm pretty sure that no quarterback on this year's team will be with the Green Wave next season. Even the possible starter on Friday Ty Thompson is in the transfer portal.
At the time of this writing, The Gasparilla Bowl could be his showcase game, or he could opt-out with many other teammates including: defensive end nose tackle Parker Peterson, defensive end Mathew-Fobbs and ESPN's top ranked player in the portal: Darian Mensah.
Beating the point spread may depend on Florida's mindset. It shouldn't be too difficult if they are focused and play hard through the 4th quarter. They've gotten much better with freshman Lagway at quarterback.
The Gators are starting to look like a team that can compete with the better ones. They did lose to power houses Georgia and Texas, but Lagway was injured. Tulane, certainly in its' present form, is not a powerhouse.
I like The Florida Gators -13
